8 Minutes
8 Minutes is an ongoing participatory photography project that invites strangers into a temporary space of trust, listening, and movement.
Each participant is first offered eight minutes to speak freely about anything they choose—without interruption, advice, or judgment. After the conversation, they select a piece of music and respond with movement. There is no choreography and no expectation to perform. The dance becomes a physical continuation of the conversation: a moment of release, reflection, or transformation.
Using long-exposure photography, I create portraits that record not a single instant, but the trace of movement through time. Each image becomes both a document and a collaboration, carrying fragments of memory, vulnerability, and the body's response to being truly heard.
Rather than seeking perfect portraits, 8 Minutes explores what can emerge when people are offered a rare opportunity to slow down, speak honestly, and inhabit their bodies without performance or expectation.
Beginning in Mexico City and continuing through New York and Toronto, 8 Minutes is an evolving project that will continue to travel to new cities, creating a growing archive of conversations, movements, and portraits that reflect the emotional landscapes we carry across cultures, languages, and communities.
